Metro West is a neighborhood in Orlando, Florida. The neighborhood is located to the north of Metrowest Boulevard and west of Kirkman Road. The Metro West neighborhood is one of the best-known neighborhoods in the Orlando area — mostly everyone is acquainted with the general area. The neighborhood has one of the largest populations of students in the Orlando area because it is directly south of Valencia Community College, a large campus in the region. In fact, many of the homes in the Metro West area are suitable as student accommodations — condos, apartments, townhouses, and even lofts.

On the north side of the Metro West neighborhood is Valencia Community College West Campus. This massive community college campus is home to thousands of students and is easily one of the most popular college campuses in the Orlando region. The school provides an education to students throughout the Orlando region and beyond. Valencia provides associate degrees and certification programs covering a number of concentrations.

In addition to close proximity to Valencia, the Metro West area has excellent access to many major destinations within only a few miles. For those who enjoy recreation, there are numerous options, including Shadow Bay Park located a few miles to the southwest off of Oak Knoll Lane. The park is surrounded completely by forests and several small areas of water. It has 19 tennis courts, a large number of covered picnic areas, as well as numerous playgrounds. The park is surrounded by several trails used by area walkers, runners, and cyclists. Due to the number of tennis courts, the park is use regularly for tennis lessons, league play, and even tournaments.

Another popular destination is Turkey Lake Park just south of Metro West, less than a mile away. The park provides a great place to go camping, fishing, and also has a large swimming pool.
