This unconventional decorating scheme began in 1968, when John Milkovisch, a retired upholsterer, decided to make a few minor patch repairs to his house using beer cans. Over time, this small project has turned into a cult favorite for many Houstonians to drive by and gawk at.

Washington Avenue is lined with dining and entertainment options. You’ll find every type of eatery here, from small, quaint Mexican restaurants to trendy, upscale Sushi bars. When you’re finished eating, head either east or west for a place to spend the rest of the evening. This area offers bars and night clubs, ranging from the simple sports bar to the young and hip dance club. When you want good food, good drinks, and an overall fun time, then head to Washington Avenue.
