World Gateway Apartments for Rent

The World Gateway neighborhood of Orlando is a mixed use community, named for its location surrounding Walt Disney World’s entrances. The 800-acre commercially developed land contains both residential housing (dominated by apartment dwellings) and a burgeoning business community. Types of structures within the World Gateway community include office towers, retail and restaurant buildings, time shares, hotels, and residential housing.

The area, which lies to the southeast of the theme park, is designed to meet the needs of vacationers and is considered the most popular tourist area of Orlando. The neighborhood is a gateway to the Disney theme park, and many of the most important area properties front the International Drive corridor. International Drive is the location for countless hotels, restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues.

Within an easy drive of the World Gateway neighborhood are other area attractions, including Sea World and Universal Studios. There is a complex network of major highways surrounding the neighborhood, which includes Interstate 4, as well as Highways 417 and 536. This makes the neighborhood an easy commute to all parts of the city and greater metropolitan area. Many permanent residents of the World Gateway neighborhood live there, however, because of its proximity to their jobs at the Disney park.

In addition to the endless shopping choices within the immediate area, residents are close to the Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores, one of Orlando’s premier shopping centers. There are more than 50 retail outlets offering discount prices on designer goods.

Recreationally, the neighborhood of World Gateway is served by Lake Bryan. This spring-fed lake, complete with sandy beaches and ancient cypresses, is a popular place to indulge in water sports, such as kayaking, water skiing, and jet skiing. Also within the area is the Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, a Rees Jones designed championship course.
