Watermill Apartments for Rent
Peppered with lakes like Lake Pearl, Lake Burkett, and Lake Waunatta, the Watermill neighborhood is a family-oriented community. Its residents are mostly white-collar professionals who work on the east side of town at the University of Central Florida, or at one of the many high-tech companies located in the area.
Most of the homes in Watermill are one-story ranch styles that were built in the 1980s and 1990s. Home prices range from $120,000 to $200,000, with an occasional larger home selling for $250,000 to $300,000.
Located in the 32817 zip code area, Watermill is bordered on the North by Aloma Avenue (426), on the south by University Boulevard, on the west by Hall Road, and on the east by the Greenway (417).
Watermill’s great location gives residents easy and quick access (20 minutes) to Orlando International Airport via the Greenway, the town of Winter Park on Aloma Avenue, and the University of Central Florida on University Boulevard.
A popular pastime with residents is water skiing on Lake Pearl. On weekends, you’ll see many Watermill parents cheering for their children at the Econ Soccer Complex at 2451 North Dean Road. The complex is part of the 135-acre Jay Blanchard Park, which features a four-mile bike path that parallels the Little Econ River. There, you’ll notice many Watermill residents biking, jogging, power walking, and in-line skating. Other amenities include basketball courts, tennis courts, softball fields, sand volleyball courts, a playground, spacious green open areas, and picnic tables.
Excellent schools are an appealing aspect of Watermill, which is zoned for Lakemont Elementary, Maitland Middle School, and Winter Park High School. One of Florida’s best high schools, Winter Park has an award-winning athletics program and offers a variety of programs such as Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, College Duel Enrollment, Academy of Information Technology, and the Academy of Construction Trades Youth Apprenticeship Program.
