Residents live in walking distance of a Walmart Supercenter just south of Highway 74. A grocery store south of the community sits on the northern side of Highway 74. Restaurants and local business are available within walking distance along Tunnel Road. The River Hills mall, east of Interstate 240 on Swannanoa River road, offers over 310,000 square feet of shopping. To the north of the mall, residents will find several large national chains, including Lowe’s and Best Buy.

Asheville Transit provides public transportation throughout the city, and commuting could not be easier for residents. The neighborhood lies just south of the junction of Interstate 240 and Highway 70. Interstate 240 and Interstate 40 intersect two miles south of Redwood Forest.
