Outer Central Asheville

Amidst rich architecture that includes a mixture of neoclassical, art deco and Beaux style homes is Outer Central Asheville. The community is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains and is defined by small-town, family values. Asheville is located in Buncombe County and is the largest city in the western hemisphere of North Carolina.

Outer Central Asheville is near Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and only a few minutes from University of North Carolina Asheville. Two prominent medical facilities, the Mission Hospital-St. Joseph Campus and the Mission Hospital-Memorial Campus, are also located near Outer Central Asheville.

Residents of Outer Central Asheville can spend time enjoying the variety of festivals and community celebrations in Asheville such as the holiday parades, annual music and arts festival, and the annual mountain sports festival. Closer to home, Walton Street Park is a terrific location featuring an outdoor swimming pool, a playground, a baseball diamond, and picnic areas. French Broad River Park is a beautiful waterfront park located on the river. This park offers paved walking/jogging trails, a scenic overlook, a dog park, and open green space.

River and Earth Adventures is in Asheville for residents who enjoy spending the day whitewater rafting, canoeing, or going on cave tours. They also can explore historic Asheville by way of the trolley tour that goes to Biltmore Village, among other historic sites in Asheville. Golfers can spend the day on the course at the Biltmore Forest Country Club, or sports fans can catch an Asheville Grizzlies game at Memorial Stadium.
