Streets with names including Dogwood, Redwood, and Country Club Roads and North Griffing Boulevard meander along the wooded ridges. Wildflowers, native trees, and shrubs and residents’ landscaping bloom in season, making it a pleasant area in which to sight-see, walk, or ride a bike.

A great nearby area to drive along, hike, and stop for views and picnicking is the Blue Ridge Parkway. Its Visitor Center is just eight miles southeast of Downtown Asheville on US 70. Camping, fishing, boating, and lodging are all available within minutes of North Ashville. Activities in the winter include skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing.
Asheville has a lot to offer in the way of shopping, dining, and entertainment. Shopping areas include the Grove Arcade in downtown as well as the Northland Shopping Center just to the southwest of North Asheville. Other points of interest include the University of North Carolina-Ashville, The Botanical Gardens of Asheville next to UNC, and the Biltmore Estate.
