This is a hilly, heavily forested neighborhood full of single-family, detached homes. This neighborhood is located southwest of Asheville and lies close to Interstate 240.

West Asheville Park sits right outside this neighborhood to the north. It has a baseball field, a playground, restrooms, and a covered picnic area. Nearby is the West Asheville Recreation Center, which shares a building with a firehouse and a law enforcement resource center. Plans are underway to connect this center to the greenway system in Asheville.

Carrier Park lies within walking distance of Morningside park and offers a wide selection of facilities. The park offers an immense playground, volleyball courts, a roller-hockey rink, basketball courts, a multi-use athletic field, and even lawn bowling. There is a multi-use track in addition to the trails along the river, and a picnic area and boating opportunities round out the park’s amenities.

Trinity Baptist Church has an amazing campus with lot of building space to provide for all the ministries that are offered. Teens and children have their own area, and there is even a gym. Zephyr Hills Free Will Baptist Church is located near the neighborhood. In addition to the weekend services, there is a Wednesday evening meal.

Francine Delany New School is a public charter school and offers grades kindergarten through 8. It is the closest school to Morningside Park.
