The city-owned neighborhood park, Malvern Hills Park, features lighted tennis courts, a children’s playground, a walking trail, and a large outdoor community pool. A bathhouse with restrooms, a concession stand, and a sheltered pavilion are located in the swimming area of the park. A few minutes from the community is the Buncombe County Sports Park. The large active recreation park has multiple soccer fields, a sand volleyball pit, a gravel hiking and biking trail, picnic shelters, and a playground. The facility also offers bocce ball and disc golf.

Several other public parks are located within a 10-mile drive of Malvern Hills, including Brooklawn Park, Carrier Park, and the French Broad River Park.
