San Souci is a neighborhood in the southeast area of the city of Jacksonville Florida. The neighborhood is located south of Beach Boulevard, Parental Home Road defines the eastern border, University Road is on the west and Bowden Road on the south.

This is an older established residential neighborhood. Dean and Bennett Street anchor the neighborhood. The streets have sidewalks and the homes are mostly single-story one-family ranch-style homes with some being made of brick and others wood frame.

Wurn Park is one of several parks in the neighborhood. It was originally donated to the city of Jacksonville by the man who developed the San Souci neighborhood. It has evolved over the years and ownership has gone back and forth between the developer, the county and now the city of Jacksonville. It has been renovated and offers amenities to both residents and visitors to the area. There are basketball courts, a football field, a playground, picnic tables and a public swimming pool. The almost 6 acres are well used and appreciated.

There are several churches in the San Souci neighborhood. Prince of Peace Catholic Church has an active community ministry. Other churches that are active within the San Souci neighborhood are the Southside Bible Chapel and the Glad Tidings Assembly of God.

The Memorial Hospital of Jacksonville is located in the northwest corner of the San Souci neighborhood.

While San Souci is a residential neighborhood there are plenty of small shops in the area as well as a few chain stores including Goodwill, Payless Shoes, CVS Pharmacy and Domino’s Pizza. There is bus service on several streets in San Souci.
