Hyde Park Neighborhood

Just southwest of downtown Jacksonville, you will find Hyde Park. This community is bordered on the north by Normandy Boulevard, on the west by I-295, on the south by Wilson Boulevard and on the east by the St. Johns River. Hyde Park is centrally located near two major interstates, I-295 and I-10, offering residents easy commuting into downtown Jacksonville and the surrounding areas.

A variety of housing can be found in Hyde Park. Average home prices are right around $100K. This is a great neighborhood if you are budget conscious. Due to neighborhood improvements to Hyde Park and surrounding areas, property values have been steadily climbing.

A Jacksonville landmark, Hyde Park Golf Club, is located on the banks of the river on the eastern side of Hyde Park. This 18-hole public course is one of the oldest courses in Florida. This beautifully designed course caters to the beginner as well as the avid golfer. Even if you don’t enjoy golfing, the gorgeous Spanish Oaks and the incredible river views make it worth your while to come for a day and play.

A popular park in the neighborhood for friends and family to gather is Sweetwater Park, located at Wilson Boulevard and Firestone Road.

Herlong Airport lies just to the west of Hyde Park. This public airport was first built during World War II, for pilot training in the Navy and Air Force. Herlong Airport today, is primarily a general aviation airport used for flight training, police aircraft, gliding, sky diving and air charters.
