For eco-friendly commuters, Amtrak of Raleigh, the local and interstate train service, is an average walk away. The Capital Area Transit System (CAT) is also close by.

Museums, walking trails, and amusement parks are abundant. The NC Museum of Art, the Contemporary Art Museum (CAM), the JC Raulston Arboretum, and the Museums of History and Natural Sciences are present.
