Heathrow Durant Trace is a residential neighborhood of Raleigh.

The neighborhood is close to the Fayetteville Street Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The district has been pedestrian friendly since 1977 and is a major part in the revitalization of downtown Raleigh.

Heathrow Durant Trace is close to the North Carolina State Capitol, a National Historic Landmark built in 1840. Capitol legends include an escape tunnel, secret rooms, and a third house as part of the building’s original design. More than 100,000 visitors tour the capitol building and other nearby Raleigh attractions.

Another family-friendly outing in the historic district is the North Carolina Museum of History. The 1902 museum has programs for adults and children focusing on the creation, development, and growth of North Carolina. The Capital Area Visitor Services, located in the North Carolina Museum of History, has information and tour schedules for a pleasant visit to Raleigh. The museum has information on restaurants, entertainment, and sports.

Pullen Park was established in 1887 when Richard Stanhope Pullen donated 80 acres for a city park. The Pullen Park Carousel, a transplant from Bloomsbury Park, is a hand-carved carousel from 1900 and is the centerpiece of the park. The carousel has been a popular community attraction for generations. The park has an aquatic center and paddle boats.

One hundred twenty-three fishing lakes are located in Wake County. Bass, striper, and crappie are some of the most popular fish caught by anglers.

Heathrow Durant Trace is close to Durant Nature Park, Camp Durant Lake No. 1, and Camp Durant Lake No. 2. Durant Nature Park is a historic park with nine easy to moderate trails for hiking. Birders will appreciate the 160 bird species found in the area. The park has a bird and butterfly garden, boathouse, old homestead, and Campbell Lodge.
