Wakemed Health & Hospitals, located directly across the highway from Ellington Place, offers superb medical care to area residents. This hospital features North Carolina’s first freestanding Children’s Emergency Department, as well as the WakeMed Heart Center, one of the highest volume heart centers in the United States.

Pullen Park, the largest park in the area, lies near North Carolina University. This is a fun and unique park for kids of all ages. The park features a carousel, a train, and kiddie boats for paddling on the park’s large pond. The Pullen Aquatic Center, Pullen Arts Center, and Theatre in the Park are also conveniently located here.
