Duxford Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
Comprised of single-family homes along Duxford Drive, Rumford Court, Hanford Court, and Bellford Court, the Duxford subdivision is situated along the shores of Falls Lake on Raleigh’s north side. The subdivision is bordered by Highway 98 to the north, Six Forks Road to the west, the Remington Forest subdivision to the east, and portions of Falls Lake to the south.
The only access point to the neighborhood is at the intersection of Duxford Drive and Six Forks Road to the west, resulting in minimal traffic, due to a lack of through streets. With its expansive home sites and backdrop of tall trees, Duxford provides residents with plenty of privacy from neighbors and passersby.
The homes within the Duxford subdivision were built primarily between 1980 and 1994, although a considerable amount of development continued through the year 2000. Featuring luxurious and spacious two-story homes on densely wooded home sites, Duxford offers residents ample space for families with children in a safe and secluded subdivision within minutes of a host of attractions.
One of the biggest draws to the neighborhood is its proximity to Highway 98. Located less than one mile to the north of Duxford, the highway provides access to the neighboring city of Durham, which is a 25-minute drive to the west and is home to Duke University, North Carolina Central University and a portion of Research Triangle Park.
Perhaps the most notable attraction located within minutes of the Duxford neighborhood is Falls Lake State Recreation Area. Located less than five miles to the northwest, this popular recreation destination offers Raleigh residents an assortment of outdoor opportunities ranging from boating, fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing on a 12,000-acre lake to hiking, camping, and mountain biking through 26,000 acres of woodland.
