A majority of homes in the Chandler Pointe neighborhood were built between 1980 and 2000, although some construction dates to the 1930s. Many of those dwellings, particularly those located along Old Warden Road, are tucked into areas of tall trees characteristic of the subdivision and offer residents a sense of safety and security. The luxurious two-story residences are situated on spacious lots, and most were built several hundred feet from the edges of the subdivision’s main roads.
Despite its large residences, this family-friendly neighborhood lacks sidewalks, making outdoor activities such as walking, biking, and jogging difficult without utilizing the roadways that wind through the community. However, residents of Chandler Pointe can take a short drive to nearby William B. Umstead State Park, which features opportunities for boating, camping, hiking, cycling, fishing, and picnicking throughout its 5,579 acres of parkland.
