Rochester’s largest indoor shopping center, the Apache Mall, is situated less than a mile to the south, as are the Crossroads Shopping Center and T.J. Maxx Plaza Shopping Center. The mall alone offers several major department stores and a long list of specialty shops. In addition to a small food court, dining options at the mall include a Mongolian Grill and an Applebee’s Neighborhood Bar & Grill.
Less than one mile east of Folwell is the Mayo Clinic, one of the city’s major medical centers and one of the most recognized health care facilities in the nation. Celebrities and politicians venture here from around the globe to receive cutting edge medical treatment. The Mayo Clinic also constitutes one of the city’s primary employers. Several other highly ranked medical centers are within a few miles east of Folwell, including the Rochester Methodist Hospital, Olmsted Medical Center, and Federal Medical Center.
Other area attractions within a few miles of Folwell are the Mayo Civic Center and the Rochester Community and Technical College.
