The Skyway neighborhood is located in Crystal, Minnesota which is a city that is located just outside of the Minneapolis area. The neighborhood has a variety of houses in it. Homes here are very well maintained with nice landscaping, despite being somewhat older. Just like other homes throughout the Minneapolis region, the homes here have characteristic wood siding.
Crystal Airport is located within the neighborhood and is a privately owned airport for public use, with mostly single-engine aircraft used predominantly by private pilots. There are also many different parks in the immediate vicinity of the neighborhood that are frequented by the residents.
Skyway Park is a fine place that is located within the Skyway neighborhood. The park has facilities that are great for visitors of all ages. A playground is available for younger children. There is also a softball field, and available, too, is a basketball court which commonly hosts pickup games.
Lions Park is one of the more beautiful parks in the area. It is a great place to relax with many trees and a sizable lake providing lots of shade and even more scenery. Many enjoy taking walks along the water and feeding the ducks.
Since most of the neighborhood lacks sidewalks outside of busier roads, many active residents typically use the parks for exercise. The bus system is convenient for travel when a vehicle isn’t available.
With numerous lakes around Skyway, water plays a major role in daily living. Many residents head out to the lakes for fishing to bring back their catch for friends and family to enjoy. Boats, kayaks, and canoes can be found here in almost as much abundance as vehicles, with many using their boats as an opportunity to connect with friends, family, and associates.
