Central is a neighborhood that is located just outside of the downtown section of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Being close to the downtown area of Minneapolis makes it easy for residents of Central to commute for work or visit one of the numerous attractions. Homes here are typically older, standing as a proud testament to the history of the region.

The closest park is Powderhorn Lake Park. This park is one of the largest in the immediate area and is a great place for a variety of activities. A lot of big annual events occur here including the 4th of July celebration and May Day Festival. Powderhorn also has a recreation center where a number of different sports can be played, and arts and crafts can be learned. Fishing and recreational boating are also important activities at Powderhorn. During the winter months there is an ice skating area that gets pretty heavy use.

Central is also a great place to raise a family. In addition to having many parks nearby, the area also has a number of schools within a few miles. Supporting the schools is the Hosmer Public Library. This library is an important part of Central, providing not only books, but access to technology for students and other residents. For family entertainment, Nokomis Lanes is a popular bowling alley, where families have a chance to have a good time while bonding.

Midtown Global Market is one of the better areas to go shopping while in Central. It has a lot of various stores and restaurants that suit many different needs. There are food stores that make the market a popular place for grocery shopping. There are also stores that sell various gifts, jewelry, and other consumer goods. The dining at Midtown Global Market covers many varied styles of cuisine.
