Camden is a north Minneapolis community that actually consists of seven smaller neighborhoods. Located in the 55412 zip code area in Hennepin County, this community is partially residential with some industrial areas. The Humboldt Industrial Area and the Camden Industrial Area are both within the greater community of Camden; these are considered part of Camden and aren’t officially assigned to one of the smaller neighborhoods that make up the community. These neighborhoods include Webber-Camden, Lind-Bohanon, Cleveland, Shingle Creek, McKinley, Folwell, and Victory. Collectively, this area is often referred to as North Minneapolis.

This large community extends to 53rd Avenue North on the north and Lowry Avenue North on the south. Xerxes Avenue North constitutes Camden’s western boundary, and the Mississippi River is considered its eastern border.

Many of the neighborhoods within Camden offer community parks, including Bohanon Park, Webber Park, Victory Park, and Folwell Park. You’ll also find Perkins Hill Park near Camden’s southeastern boundary. A large cemetery – Crystal Lake Cemetery – is located in the community’s southern half. With all the parks in the community, Camden can be considered dog friendly; Camden Pet Hospital also serves the area.

Due to the size of the community, there are a great many places to eat, worship, and be entertained within the Camden neighborhoods. However, if you’re looking for something that Camden doesn’t offer, it’s likely only a short drive away in the city proper. Camden residents have access to major roadways, with I-94 and US Highway 52 running along the community’s eastern boundary, parallel to the Mississippi.

Because of the many neighborhoods that make up Camden, you’ll also find a large number of schools servicing this community. These schools include Lucy Craft Laney Elementary, Jenny Lind Elementary, Loring Park Elementary, Fredrika Bremer Intermediate, City View Community, and Henry Senior High.
