Lake Magdalene is a relatively large residential area with a young population and many families. The average income is $52,000 and home values are around $235,000.

Individuals in the area have plenty of opportunities for entertainment and recreation without having to travel too far to get to it. Located only a few miles to the west off of Dale Mabry Highway is Side Splitters Comedy Club, which is one of the more popular attractions in the area for adults. The club is known for its national comedy acts and improv. They also provide a full liquor bar and a kitchen with food that is similar to what could be had in a restaurant.

For family entertainment, there are a few different options in the area. The first is the Museum of Science and Industry, located across from the University of South Florida on the Fowler Avenue side. This museum is constantly changing their exhibits; they are both entertaining and educational. The museum also features some excellent Imax shows in its theater; these also change frequently.

Just behind the museum is one of the area’s biggest events, The Renaissance Festival. This festival is held annually and lasts about a month. It features artisans, musicians, and many time-period actors in character. This is a popular event for many residents throughout Tampa and especially enjoyed by children.

If recreation is important, to the south on Rome Avenue and Village Avenue is Roy Haynes Park. This small park has limited features with just one baseball field and a few tennis courts. However, it is one of the closest parks in the area and is popular with the area youth.
