Cedar Hollow is a small neighborhood located in Greater Carrollwood, Florida, which is part of the Tampa Bay region. The Cedar Hollow area is made up of a single road: Cedar Hollow Lane, located south of Hudson Lane. The biggest road in the area is Dale Mabry Highway, which is the closest road to the east of Cedar Hollow.
Just north of Cedar Hollow on Dale Mabry Highway is access to some of the more popular area restaurants, many of which are major national brand names. Some of the restaurants located within a short distance north on Dale Mabry Highway include Buca Di Beppo, Red Lobster, Mimi’s Cafe, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Outback Steakhouse, O’Brien’s Irish Pub, and Piccadilly Cafe.
Located just behind Buca Di Beppo and Red Lobster is Carrollwood Park, which can be accessed off of Orange Grove Drive. The park is popular with active area residents. Carrollwood Park has a baseball field, several large fields for multiple purpose activities, four tennis courts, and a playground. The park is frequented by many area youth and the fields are popular with dog owners for socializing their pets. The fields are also used for soccer, flying kites, and of course, throwing frisbees.
For sports lovers, a five-mile drive south on Dale Mabry Highway is all it takes to get to the home of the professional football team Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium. The stadium is also used for games by the Bulls, the football team for the University of South Florida. The stadium is also used for many major events, including concerts.
Directly across the street from Raymond James Stadium is George M Steinbrenner Field. This is the spring training home of the New York Yankees professional baseball team. The Yankees also happen to be the division rivals of the local team, the Tampa Bay Rays.
