Despite feeling peaceful and somewhat secluded, this neighborhood provides immediate access to Highway 296 and many area amenities. A post office and supermarket are situated just outside of neighborhood bounds, and many shopping, dining and entertainment options exist within a short drive of home. Bellview Shopping Center is the nearest retail area, located within one mile to the west. It offers two additional supermarkets and several eateries and specialty shops. Larger retail complexes like the Cordova and University Malls are also within 10 miles of the community.

Another attraction close to home is the Green Meadows Par 3 Golf Course, located just outside of neighborhood bounds on the north. Several other golf courses can be found within a few minutes of Newport Place, including Marcus Pointe and the Osceola municipal course.

Newport Place is also within one mile of Crescent Lake and only a few miles east of access to Perdido Bay.
