Ortega Forest is considered by many to be one of the most beautiful residential neighborhoods in Northeast Florida. It is bordered on the north and east by Roosevelt Boulevard, on the west by the Ortega River, and on the south by Longbow Road South.

Ortega Forest is conveniently located just southwest of Jacksonville in the area known as the Westside. The wealthy community of Ortega is just east of Ortega Forest. This plot of land, once known all together as Ortega, was subdivided in the mid 1900s. While Ortega is known as having a wealthy, affluent, awe-inspiring community of homes, Ortega Forest has its fair share of sprawling estates and manicured lawns as well.

Ortega Forest is convenient to private schools, area churches, and numerous small parks along the river which add to Ortega Forest’s charm. The community is still close to the urban core of Jacksonville, but definitely offers a suburban feel to residents. US Highway 17 is the main through street running through the community (north and south), offering easy access to area communities.

Ortega Island is a small island in Ortega Forest that was developed in the late 1980s. The island is connected to the rest of Ortega Forest via a cobblestone bridge. Ortega Island is home to fifteen grand residences along the Ortega River.

Just south of Ortega Forest lies Timuquana Country Club. This private country club (of which many residents of Ortega Forest are members), offers prime golfing, gorgeous grounds and superior amenities.
