An urban body of water named Pottsburg Creek runs north and south directly through Killarney Shores.

Craig Municipal Airport is located only minutes northeast. This public, general aviation airport handles personal aircraft, as well as small commuter planes.

This community has not one, but two great options for continued education located just a few miles to the east. Florida Community College South Campus focuses primarily on the Arts, and because of this, the campus is known for its performances and gallery exhibits. The University of North Florida is a public university, comprised of five separate colleges for degree programs. Killarney Shores is the proud home of The Hands on Children’s Museum. This hidden gem for children and parents alike is located on Beach Boulevard. This castle-themed, interactive museum can keep children entertained for hours.

A popular park in the area for young soccer enthusiasts is Brackridge Park. This park is just south of Killarney Shores. Brackridge Park is home to the Jacksonville Jaguars Soccer Club. This club, founded in 1979, is comprised of children’s soccer teams from around the area.
