The Woodridge neighborhood of San Antonio is situated west of Interstate 10/U.S. Highway 87. Prue Road runs east-to-west just south of the community, where the streets are all aptly named. Street signs in this community say things like Woodridge Hills, Cedar Cove, Wood Harbor, Woodway Court, and Woodridge Oaks, among others. Woodridge is a part of Bexar County, within the 78249 ZIP code area.
If the quaint street names aren’t enough to impress visitors, the neighborhood’s proximity to the Interstate will. Woodridge is ideal for commuters and city goers who want suburban living combined with easy access to the city. There are a few commercial offerings near this mostly residential neighborhood, including a Walmart Supercenter and a Domino’s Pizza. A good-sized retail center, Fiesta Trails, is situated to the east of the Interstate, along De Zavala Road. Woodridge residents can pay a visit to the H-E-B grocery store, Marshalls, Stein Mart, Petco, Office Max, and Target, among others. Clearly, shopping local is no large feat when you live in Woodridge.
Residents also enjoy proximity to lots of parkland. Bamberger Nature Park, Rohde Park, Leon Creek Greenway Park, and Schnabel Park connect to form a large strip of parkland roughly four miles long, a little more than a mile to the west of Woodridge. Farther west but still within driving distance of the neighborhood is the Government Canyon State Natural Area. Spanning more than 8,620 acres, this nature conservancy is still under development, but hikers are already making use of the beautiful trails.
Woodridge is also a few miles south of the University of Texas at San Antonio, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, and The Shops at La Cantera. Several prominent medical facilities are situated within a few miles to the south of the neighborhood, including the Southwest Texas Medical Center.
