This community is just a short distance from the 343+ acre Brackenridge Park, home to the Japanese Tea Garden, a year round garden that has koi ponds, a 60 foot waterfall, a stone bridge and walkways. The garden is well shaded to provide visitors with protection from the hot south Texas sun. The San Antonio Zoo is also located in Brackenridge Park. The zoo has the usual mammals, reptiles and amphibians, but it also has a spectacular bird collection that includes some very unusual birds, such as a Madagascar partridge and a Malayan peacock pheasant. Brackenridge Park also has places to fish and athletic fields, among other attractions.
