Towards the northern tip of the city of San Antonio is the neighborhood of Redland Ridge. This subdivision lies just east of US Route 281 and slightly north of the 1604 Charles W Anderson Loop. Redland Ridge is comprised mostly of single family homes and borders other neighborhoods, including Encino Park to the north and Thousand Oaks to the south.

Residents who enjoy outdoor activities will find wonderful golfing at Canyon Springs Golf Club or perhaps The Club at Sonterra Golf Course, which is about three miles away. There are beautiful parks to enjoy green space at Gold Canyon or Mud Creek. Stone Oak Park is also about two miles from Redland Ridge. For some inside entertainment, people can find movies within a mile of the neighborhood at Regal Cinemas Northwoods 14.

William Pierce Primary School or Encino Park Elementary serve the grade school children. On the middle school level, students attend either John H. Wood Jr or Radiance Academy of Learning. High school age students attend school at John H. Wood Jr High or Ronald Reagan High School. Those students going on to college might attend Alamo Community College.

Shopping can be done at places such as the Legacy Shopping Center or The Village at Stone Oak. There is also the Shoppes at Wilderness Oaks for those wanting a few more stores. Many of the top retailers are in the area, such as Wal-Mart and Ross to name just two.

If Redland Ridge residents need to travel for business, the Twin-Oaks Airport is about four miles south of the Redland Ridge area, or a bit farther south is the San Antonio International Airport. The Texas Transportation Museum is a fun place to check out, as well as the McNay Art Museum or Witte Museum which houses many interesting pieces of art.
