Macarthur Park Apartments for Rent(hide neighborhood information)
The MacArthur Park neighborhood takes its name from the community’s southern boundary, Douglas MacArthur Park on the Interstate 410 Frontage Road. Nacogdoches Road serves as both the north and west boundaries. This community is just a short way east of the San Antonio International Airport and a short distance west of Interstate 35. Northeast Baptist Hospital is also quite close.
The residential part of this community is older, with houses that were built for the most part from the late 1950s to 1960s, but there are a few newer structures that were built in the 1980s. The streets in this neighborhood are filled with large and mature trees, providing a natural and refreshing contrast for an area so close to freeways and shopping centers.
Because of the close proximity to the airport, there are many hotels and restaurants in the area. There is no shortage of shopping either, and there are a range of different shopping options for people of most budgets. Tuesday Morning, CVS, and Dollar General are located on Nacogdoches Road. The North Star Mall is located just west of the airport, and Windsor Park Shopping Center is located just off of Interstate 35.
Plant and nature lovers will enjoy a trip to the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The conservatory will please botanical fans, while people looking for adventure will surely enjoy the Texas Native Trail. The new Bird Watch at the garden allows garden visitors to see resident and migrating birds.
Home owners who need landscaping ideas can lean a lot from visiting Watersaver Lane. The area features water saver plants that are surrounded by miniature cottages, with the idea of showcasing landscaping ideas. The Botanical Garden is also home to four annual summer “Concerts Under the Stars.” Every September, the garden hosts the “Gardens by Moonlight Music Festival.” These concerts are just a few of the many events that are part of San Antonio’s very active cultural life, easily accessible from MacArthur Park.
