Encino Rio Apartments for Rent

Encino Rio is a gated community north of downtown San Antonio. It is densely packed with only two electronically monitored entrances, one off Evans Road and the other off Caliza Drive. Development started in 1998, with the entire project completed by 2002. The Encino Rio Homeowners Association oversees the development, including the hiring of off-duty San Antonio Police Officers to provide security services. Encino Rio is a very safe, traffic free, secure place to live.

The Frank Tejeda Middle School is across the street from Encino Rio off Evans Road. Encino Park Elementary is less than a half mile to the south. The Church at Vineyard Hills, about a block away, and St Padre Pio Catholic Church, about a half mile, are the closest houses of worship. The Villages of Stone Oak Mall is a mile to the north, with anchor stores including Target and Cost Plus.

Two miles west of Encino Rio is the 245 acre Stone Oak Park and its three miles of trails, exercise stations, and picnic tables. A half mile north of the park is the Canyon Springs Golf Club with its 18 hole championship course. Built on the Classen homestead, belonging to one of the oldest settlers in the area, the course has some unusual features. There were several caves found during construction, yielding, among other things, an intact skeleton of a saber toothed tiger and Winchester rifles dating back to the early 1800s.
