Encino Park is a neighborhood in San Antonio, Texas, in the 78359 zip code. This neighborhood is located to the east of Route 281. The terrain is hilly, and there are wonderful oak trees and spacious yards. The homes are constructed in a variety of styles including a surprising number of tutor designs. Sidewalks make walking a pleasure. This neighborhood has a homeowner’s association and a community center. Members can use all the facilities, which include a pool, basketball court, and playground. Downtown San Antonio is conveniently located to the southwest.

Stone Oak Park is a 245-acre park maintained by the city of San Antonio. It has over 2.5 miles of trails including Spider’s Dare and Snake Chase. In addition there are picnic areas, a playground, and off-street parking. Two caves can be found in the park—Bear and Cub—but visitors are not allowed into them for reasons of safety.

Children in the neighborhood may attend the Encino Park Elementary School, which has been given a distinguished rating as a great school. It offers classes to children in grades K-5. There are also several private schools within a mile or so.

The San Antonio Public Library has 27 branches, and one of them is located quite close to Encino Park at the Ronald Reagan High School.

Where Evans Road crosses Route 281 there is a variety of stores and restaurants. There is also an H-E-B grocery store within walking distance. Just about two miles from Encino Park, The Village at Stone Oak offers the full mall experience. A wide selection of upscale shops along with dining and entertainment options is available.
