The neighborhood of Dreamland Oaks is located in northwest San Antonio, Texas. This small community is bounded by Dreamland Drive, Lockhill Selma Road, Wedgwood Drive and by railroad tracks on the southwest. Homes here are primarily single-family, ranch style homes, on treed lots. Homes were built from the 1940s to the present day. Prices are, on average, $150-$200K. There are also multiple apartment communities in the area, such as Whispering Oaks Villas.
Dreamland Oaks is convenient to I-410 and I-10 and offers easy access to the Riverwalk and the other attractions that Downtown San Antonio has to offer. San Antonio International Airport is only minutes east of the community, making domestic and international travel very convenient for Dreamland Oaks residents.
Residents of Dreamland Oaks can gather at newly opened Phil Hardberger Park for a day of fun. This park, which just opened in May of 2010, is a 311-acre park offering miles of multi-use trails, a 1.8 acre dog park, picnic facilities, and a large playground. The second phase of the park construction is underway, which will include educational buildings, additional trails and access points and a multi-purpose play field, among other amenities. The community regularly hosts speakers and children’s educational events at the park, which help to bring the community together.
Southwest Texas Medical Center is located to the south near the intersection of I-10 and I-410, offering area residents excellent medical care. Texsan Heart Hospital is also close by, off I-10.
For the bargain shopper, Crossroads Shopping Center and Crossroads Mall are great spots to look for deals. These low-profile shopping areas offer discount stores such as Burlington Coat Factory, Super Target and Stein Mart, as well as some smaller discount stores.
