Vance Jackson Neighborhood

The Vance Jackson area is a unique residential and business district combined with many lovely, urban features. Dwellings within this neighborhood are generally well-established ranch-style homes, with many having privacy fences. While some houses are constructed of brick or stucco, others have been renovated on the outside with vinyl-siding.

Many area residents belong to the Colonies House Swim and Tennis Club on Colony Drive. This is a member-managed and operated facility. Locals in the area take swimming or tennis lessons, join leagues and enjoy the summer recreation.

Walkers enjoy Phil Hardberger Park which is just a walk through the Whispering Oaks subdivision or Aggie Park on the southeast corner of the Vance Jackson district.

With the many hospitals and medical complexes in the vicinity, residents can find the right health facility. Southwest Texas Medical Center, Saint Luke’s Baptist Hospital and Santa Rosa Northwest Hospital are all nearby.

Colonies North Elementary School is within the neighborhood. Many other educational opportunities are available throughout the district, to include private and denominational learning.

There are many apartment buildings for the San Antonio resident who prefers closer community living. Ranging throughout the area are a number of choices in residential living, business opportunities, shopping and recreation.

One of the most beautiful features about the Vance Jackson neighborhood is the Sculptor’s Dominion. Each year a multi-natural, culturally diverse, sculptors’ exhibit is held. Strolling through this magnificent display is artistically surreal. This event is held within the confines of the subdivision.

The most elite residents of the vicinity have memberships at the Oak Hills Country Club.

The Vance Jackson community is conveniently located to Highway 87, and Interstates 10 and 410.
