Tree-lined streets, great schools, and shopping just a few miles away, Coolcrest is a popular neighborhood in metropolitan San Antonio. While downtown San Antonio has the famous River Walk and museums, residents will find they don’t have to go very far away from home to find something to do.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has 200 acres of rides and entertainment, including the Superman: Krypton Coaster, which is the largest steel coaster in the southwest. Students attend schools from the Northside Independent School District, which was named one of five finalists in 2007 for the Broad Prize. This prize is considered the “Nobel Prize” of public education. Elementary school students attend Ott Elementary School. Named after the late Texas statesman, Gregory Luna, is Luna Middle School. High school students in the area attend the newest school, William J. Brennan High School. Like all of the high schools, the school is named after a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.
The Northside Education Foundation partners with the community in promoting education in the Coolcrest community. Sea World and Six Flags Fiesta hosts events for the foundation each year.
