South Boulevard Park Row Apartments for Rent

South Boulevard/Park Row is a large neighborhood located just south of downtown Dallas that contains part of the city’s historic downtown district, several cultural points of interest, as well as a handful of parks and public green space.

The northern part of the neighborhood is made up of the South Boulevard/Park Row Historic District, which is surrounded by residential pockets comprised of shotgun and craftsman style architecture. It is ideal for pedestrians and cyclists, because of its location to large attractions and its dense urban development. Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) has several routes in the area, making it easy for non-drivers to get around the city.

Triangular in shape, the boundaries for South Boulevard/Park Row are made up of two major highways, Interstate Highway 45 and ERL Thornton Freeway along its western and northern edges. The eastern boundary follows 2nd Avenue, which becomes CF Hawn Freeway. The southern boundary is East Ledbetter Drive.

Parks in the area include Opportunity Park, Exeline Park, Nelson Park, Rhodes Terrace Park and Rochester Park, one of Dallas’s largest park areas. Each park varies in size, but offers visitors shady trees, places to picnic or relax and some even have sports fields.

South Boulevard/Park Row is best known for being right next to Cotton Bowl Stadium, home of the Red River Shootout game between longtime rivals University of Texas and Oklahoma University. This game coincides with the Texas State Fair held in Fair Park, the area surrounding the stadium. Other points of interest near Fair Park include The African American Museum, The Museum of Nature and Science’s Children’s Museum and The Women’s Museum.
