Buckner Terrace Everglade Park Neighborhood

The Buckner Terrace Everglade Park neighborhood is located next to Urbandale/Parkdale, within the 75227 zip code. The boundaries for this community are Samuell Boulevard to the north, South Buckner Boulevard to the east, Forney Road to the south, and North Jim Miller Road to the west.

The Buckner Terrace Everglade Park neighborhood is filled with beautiful trees and lush landscaping. Trees provide homes with plenty of shade during the hot Texas summers, a boon for the older homes that don’t have air conditioning. Houses here tend to be fairly large, ranging in size from about 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. Some homes were built in the early 1960s, while others were built as recently as 1997.

The area is conveniently located near the Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. The Buckner station stop on the Green Line train goes right downtown, providing residents with an easy and affordable alternative to driving.

The Dallas Village at Old Heritage Park is located on 13 acres of wooded land in the historic Old City Park, just south of downtown Dallas. The buildings, collections, and furnishings all represent the period from 1840 to 1910, and are used for research, exhibits, and publications.

The living history museum consists of 38 historic structures. There is a working civil war farm, a school, a church, commercial buildings, elegant Victorian homes, and a traditional Jewish household.

The Dallas World Aquarium, located at 1801 North Griffin, sits in a converted old warehouse very close to the downtown West End Historic District. The Mundo Maya exhibit in a newly constructed wing of the aquarium opened in August 2004.
