It is conveniently situated just south of the Tulsa International Airport and west of Highways 11 and 169, bounded by East Pine Street, Sheridan Road, Interstate 244 and US Highway 412, and North Memorial Drive. It is part of Tulsa County, in the 74115 zip code.

McKinley Mitchell is a large neighborhood, host to several hundred single-family homes of various sizes and styles. Several commercial offerings also exist within neighborhood bounds, especially along the bounding roadways. The Airway Shopping Center is located on the south side of the neighborhood, offering a supermarket and several specialty shops. Several more shopping centers are situated just outside of neighborhood bounds to the north and south.

Younger students living in McKinley Mitchell can attend one of two elementary schools within neighborhood bounds: McKinley Elementary on the west, and Mitchell Elementary on the south. A private Catholic school is also located on the community’s northwest side.

For outdoor recreation, this community offers two small neighborhood parks: Benton Park on the west and Norvell Park to the south, where residents have access to open green space, a playground, a tennis court and a basketball court. For more outdoor fun, residents may travel a few miles north to Mohawk Park, one of the city’s most prominent outdoor attractions. This large park offers two lakes, an 18-hole golf course and a long list of other amenities. The Tulsa Zoo and Living Museum is also situated on park grounds.

The McKinley Mitchell neighborhood is also located within a few miles of the University of Tulsa and several major medical centers.
