Outer S Tulsa/Broken Arrow Neighborhood

Broken Arrow, a city considered to be Tulsa, Oklahoma’s largest suburb, is located on Tulsa’s southeast side. This region, which includes southeastern Tulsa and Broken Arrow, is also referred to as Outer South Tulsa/Broken Arrow. Neighborhoods in the area include Burning Tree, Forest Creek, and Willow Springs.

The Burning Tree neighborhood is far away from city stress but still within an easy commute of the downtown area. A medium-density neighborhood, it offers many choices in apartments as well as single-family homes. Burning Tree is within the region of Oklahoma called “the green country” because it is lush and well-watered compared to other parts of the state that are farther west.

Broken Arrow was founded in 1902 and features a pedestrian-friendly, historic downtown. It is an award-winning city, named one of the most “Affordable Suburbs in the South,” one of the 100 best places to live, the safest city in Oklahoma, and one of the top 10 towns for families. Broken Arrow is a “Tree City USA.”

As you look at apartments in South Tulsa/Broken Arrow, be sure to check out Saint Thomas Square. This fantastic, mixed-use neighborhood includes apartments, single-family homes, and businesses. Johnson Park is located just to the northwest of the neighborhood. It has a new style sprayground, a basketball and tennis court, eight ball fields, picnic tables, and a picnic shelter. With 32 acres it also has plenty of open space. The park is located very close to the River Parks East Trails which follows the Arkansas River and is great for walking and for biking.

Page Belcher Public Golf Course is situated on the west side of the Arkansas River just a short drive from Saint Thomas Square. Page Belcher has two 18-hole golf courses; Olde Page opened in 1977 and Stone Creek in 1987. Both courses have a lot to offer golfers of every skill level.

When it comes to shopping, a short drive will take residents to Tulsa Hills Shopping Center. The shopping center offers such classic stores as Marshalls, Best Buy, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and Lowes. There are also several restaurants including Subway, Chili’s, and Buffalo Wild Wings.
