Several retail areas exist within walking distance or a short drive of home, including the McLain Village and Northridge Shopping Centers to the east and the Suburban Acres Shopping Center to the south. For outdoor recreation, there are two small parks just outside of neighborhood bounds, easily within walking distance. Dickenson Park is situated to the east, and County Park is located to the northeast. Collectively, these parks offer walking paths, playing fields, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, and open green space for games or picnics. Dickenson also offers a community center, and a local YMCA is situated a few minutes to the east. This community is also within a few miles west of Mohawk Park, the city’s largest park. Among the long list of amenities and facilities here are an 18-hole golf course, miles of walking and biking trails, two lakes, and the Tulsa Zoo.
