This neighborhood park has 16 acres. There is a community center in the park as well as a pool. There is also a playground, basketball and tennis courts, a soccer field and picnic tables. There are trails to walk, some of which are paved and others are gravel. Dogs are welcome but they must be on a leash.

There are no chain grocery stores in the neighborhood but there is a Homeland Store on North West 39th Street. Penn Square Mall is a short drive away from the Original Military Park neighborhood. It is a great shopping venue with a vast selection of shopping and dining options. There are major retailers and specialty shops. The mall features clothing for men, women and children as well as jewelry, sports and Godiva chocolates.
