Lakeside is a neighborhood located in northwest Oklahoma City. It is roughly square in shape and bordered on the north side by North West 71st Court, on the east by North May Avenue, to the south by North West 64th Street, and to the west by North Independence Avenue. The area is mainly residential with single-family homes and apartment buildings. There are also businesses and commercial properties in the neighborhood. Some of these include Computer Connection, Stork Land and Kids, Too!, Precision Tune Auto Care, PetSmart, and the Burlington Coat Factory.

Tinsley Park is located within the neighborhood. The park features lots of open space with picnic tables and playground equipment. Nearby is Lake Hefner Park. It is considered one of Oklahoma City’s most popular parks and features playgrounds, soccer and softball fields, a golf course, picnic tables, and a nine-mile jogging and bicycling path. Lake Hefner is adjacent to the park and sail boats are a common sight on the lake’s waters. The lake itself is 2,500 surface acres and was built in 1947. A canal connects it to Lake Overholser. Lake Hefner boasts covered piers, an enclosed, heated fishing dock, wet slips and dry slips, and the East Wharf restaurant area. Sailing races, lessons, boating and kayaking are all allowed on the lake. Also near the lake is the covered pavilion at the Stars and Stripes Park. This park is located on the south east corner of the lake and features lakeside entertainment, a large playground, and numerous benches and picnic tables. Fishing is also allowed in this area.

The neighborhood is conveniently located near Lake Hefner Parkway, putting it within easy reach of shopping, dining and entertainment options.
