The Airline district is located just north of the Will Rogers Airport. Single-family homes dominate the older neighborhood. A few apartment buildings stand on the west edge of Airline, while retail business areas are found on Southwest 29th Street and near the Will Rogers Expressway.
The zip code for the Airline neighborhood is 73119. It is bound on the east by South Independence Avenue, which divides it from Woodson Park. The southeast boundary is the Will Rogers Expressway. On the south, the boundary is Southwest 41st Street. The west boundary is South Portland Avenue, which divides Airline from the Frequent Flyer neighborhood. On the north, Southwest 29th Street is the boundary.
The small, generally single-story homes of the Airline neighborhood are set on large lots. The majority of the housing in the neighborhood was built around the middle of the twentieth century. Most homes have clapboard siding, are faced with brick, or are covered in composition shingle. The neighborhood has a nearly rural feel in spite of local industrial areas and the airport.
Woodson Park, just east of the Airline neighborhood, offers a recreation center, a gym, playing fields, and a picnic area. Airport Heights Park, which is one block west of the Airline neighborhood, is a less developed park with many informal trails. In summer, the Oklahoma State Fair is held at Fairgrounds Park located about three miles to the north on Will Rogers Expressway.
Airline is a neighborhood of mostly older homes which are conveniently located close to the hospitality district, industrial areas, and business parks near the Will Rogers Airport.
