The main feature is Shelly Lake, of course, where visitors can enjoy a variety of water activities including: fishing as well as several variations of boating sports like canoeing, sailing, and row boating.
Womble is located north of downtown Raleigh, just east of the Raleigh Durham International Airport. Local colleges in the area include North Carolina State University and Duke University, both known for their excellent research departments, academic achievement, and athletic spirit.
