Watauga Street is a neighborhood that is situated along Watauga Street in Raleigh, North Carolina. Homes here have incredible character as the majority are somewhat older. For further history of the area, the North Carolina Museum of History is less than a mile away off of Edenton Street.

Near the museum of history are a number of important government buildings and huge tourist attractions including the Governor’s Mansion off of Blount Street which was built in 1863. The legislative building is also nearby as well as many other important buildings that help run the state government.

The area is also home to the massive State Library of North Carolina. The library is an important part of the downtown scene providing research for the many students at neighboring colleges such as Peace College and Campbell University School of Law. It is also a major hub for technology with numerous computers providing internet access to residents.

Restaurants are incredibly abundant throughout the area providing Watauga Street with a wide variety of options. Restaurants range from the usual to the completely unusual with many of the more unique restaurants providing some of the best food.
