This 19th century farmstead demonstrates North Carolina’s agricultural heritage and history by using special events, programs and exhibits. Visitors can also use the hiking trails, picnic shelters or fish. Benton Southworth Donaldson purchased the strip of land now known as Oak View in 1829 for $135. He constructed the two-story Greek Revival I-frame house in 1855 and it still stands today and is open for tours.
Farmington Square Shopping Center is within walking distance. Yancy’s and Family Dollar are among the retail stores in the shopping center.
