Stoneham Acres lies in a wooded spot in between Slate Drive, Quartz Court and Creech Road. Just off Interstate 40, Stoneham Acres is across the street from Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School. A bike lane runs along Sanderford Road.

Churches nearby include First Congregational Church, Macidonia Church and Grace Church. All three are just a few minutes drive and offer Sunday worship services and activities for adults and children.

Nearby Worthdale Park contains two baseball fields. Anderson Point Park features Crabtree Creek where visitors can canoe, fish, or enjoy the scenic views. There is a spectacular overlook that is a popular spot for photographers. Worthdale offers programs for all ages year round. The amphitheater regularly has concerts and other entertainment. The elegant cottage on the grounds is available for weddings and other special events.

Historic Oak View County Park is a 10-minute drive from Stonham Acres. This 19th century farmstead demonstrates North Carolina’s agricultural heritage and history by using special events, programs and exhibits. Visitors can also use the hiking trails, picnic shelters or fish. Benton Southworth Donaldson purchased the strip of land now known as Oak View in 1829 for $135. He constructed the two-story Greek Revival I-frame house in 1855 and it still stands today and is open for tours.

Farmington Square Shopping Center is within walking distance. Yancy’s and Family Dollar are among the retail stores in the shopping center.

Stonham Acres is close to favorite Raleigh attractions as well as shopping and business and is a quiet, modest neighborhood.
