Smoketree is a small, residential community in Raleigh, North Carolina that is close to entertainment and points of interest for a variety of people. Nearby parks and lakes appeal to outdoorsy people while shopping centers to the north and south offer a range of commercial entertainment.

Smoketree’s boundaries are clearly marked, surrounded by undeveloped forest. Jacqueline Lane curves to the south and continues past Smoketree’s eastern border which lies just to the east of Archibald Way. South Homestead Drive is the northern border and intersects with the western border, Capital Boulevard or Highway 1.

Durant Nature Park is a few minutes to the northwest of Smoketree. This natural park has almost 250 acres of land with several hike and bike trails, picnic areas and event spaces for rent. This park is also home to two lakes, Camp Durant Lake Number One and Camp Durant Lake Number Two. These man-made bodies of water act as reservoirs for the city of Raleigh and provide beautiful scenery. To the south of the park, Greshams Lake is a smaller, man-made lake that also has reservoir status.

For those interested in traversing more urban development, Triangle Town Center to the south is a large shopping facility home to over 175 stores. Romano’s Macaroni Grill and California Pizza Kitchen are two of the several restaurants in the area. There is also a movie theater in the area as well as several hotels for out-of-town guests including the Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard Mariott.

For those interested in dressing up their homes, the Mill Outlet Village is a few minutes north of Smoketree next to Leith Toyota. Mill Outlet Village is in a smaller commercially developed area and specializes in affordable home furnishings including draperies, rugs, and upholstery materials.
