Among the amenities offered at these area parks are trails for walking, jogging, biking, and dog walking, as well as playgrounds and playing fields.

There are two major medical centers in the area as well, providing Sasser Homes residents with convenient healthcare options. Duke Raleigh Hospital is less than two miles to the northeast, and the Wakemed Hospital – Raleigh Campus is a few miles to the southeast.
