Renaissance at Valley Stream is a subdivision situated northeast of Downtown Raleigh in zip code 27616. Resembling a square in shape with a little peak at the top, the boundaries are imaginary lines along the backyards of homes on Jellyn Court on the north which circles down to Marathon Lane on the east and Marathon Lane circles along the south meeting Triple Creek Drive, with Mocha Lane located on the west.

Entrance to the subdivision is Triple Court and Windstorm Way, both from Valley Stream Drive on the west side. Homes were built in the 2000s and feature grassy yards and sidewalks along the street. Trees and landscape have not matured but it’s a nice place to walk and ride bikes if one doesn’t require shade.

Located south of Louisburg/US 401 Road, east of North New Hope Road and north of Buffaloe Road, Renaissance at Valley Stream is in-between I-540 and I-440, making it a short drive to major shopping, dining, entertainment and employment centers including Downtown Raleigh. The Raleigh Durham International Airport is just a few minutes away. A major shopping center is Triangle Town Center located north of the subdivision at I-540 and Capital Boulevard/US 1.

Recreational opportunities near the neighborhood include numerous parks and golf courses. South of Renaissance at Valley Stream is Marsh Creek Park, 3016 North New Hope Road, with such amenities as a skate park, community center, playground, lighted ball field and inline hockey rink. William B. Umstead State Park, 8801 Glenwood Avenue, offers walk and bike trails, picnic areas, horseback riding, camping, boating, fishing and hunting. Golf courses include Raleigh Country Club at 400 Donald Ross Drive and Hedingham Golf Club at 4801 Harbour Towne Drive, both south of Renaissance at Valley Stream.
