(hide neighborhood information)

Prynnwood is a neighborhood in the town of Cary, just west of Raleigh, North Carolina. It is within 15 minutes of downtown Raleigh and just west of Interstate 40. This community consists of a small number of home sites along a single street – Prynnwood Court. It is east of Northeast Maynard Road, north of Chapel Hill Road, and west of Trinity Road. Neighboring communities include Ardmore at Reedy Creek, Braeloch, and Carriage Woods, among others. Prynnwood is in the 27607 zip code area; it is in Wake County.

The surrounding area offers many shopping, dining, and entertainment options. There are several retail centers within a short drive of the neighborhood. About a mile to the west are the Northwoods Shopping Center and Harrison Pointe Shopping Center. Roughly a mile farther west of this retail area is another shopping complex – the Park Place Shopping Center. However, the crown jewel of the Cary shopping scene – the Cary Towne Center – is situated about two miles directly south of Prynnwood. This multi-level indoor shopping mall offers major department stores like Macy’s, Belk, Sears, Dillard’s, and J.C. Penney’s, as well as a few hundred specialty shops, dining options, and a movie theater. Yet another retail area, which includes the Crossroads Plaza, is just a short distance southeast of the Towne Center.

Of course, convenient shopping options aren’t the only attraction of the Prynnwood neighborhood. Three parks are situated within a short drive of the community, as well. Willaim B. Umstead State Park spans more than 5,000 acres to the north, adjacent to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Within five miles to the southeast is the Lake Johnson Nature Park, and within five miles to the southwest is Fred G. Bond Metro Park. Between these three parks, Prynnwood residents have no shortage of options for outdoor recreation.

The nearby downtown area also offers plenty of attractions. Most notable are the state capitol and the North Carolina State University campus.
