The neighborhood is bordered by Hickory Grove Church Road on the east, and North Radner Way forms the western boundary. Black Sail Court runs off North Radner and ends in a cul-de-sac. Covington Bend Drive runs off Black Sail Court and ends at Hickory Grove Church Road. Groveside Street, which also ends in a cul-de-sac, is accessed off Hickory Grove Church Road.
The backyards of homes in the area are separated from the residences behind them by large, mature trees. Front yards also have mature trees for shade and privacy. Sidewalks are available on both sides of the streets for pedestrian use. Much of the area surrounding the neighborhood is woodland, with well-laid-out small, residential developments.
The Place at Harrington Grove is situated one mile north of Interstate 540, the Northern Wake Expressway. The junction with Route 70 is two miles west on Interstate 540. Commuters and business travelers will find the Raleigh-Durham International Airport conveniently located at this junction. Interstate 40 is just south of the airport and meets Interstate 540 one mile to the west. The Crabtree Valley Mall, with more than 200 stores, is south on Route 70 for shopping and dining.
The William B. Umstead State Park, which includes Big Lake, borders the airport on the east, making recreational activities extremely close by for residents of the neighborhood. Directly south of the park and Interstate 40, residents can also enjoy Lake Crabtree Country Park and Lake Crabtree. The Falls Lake State Recreation Area and Falls Lake are less than 10 miles to the north.
